Biscit announce new broadband and phone package
Thursday October 5, 2006 - 12:45 PM, by Manoj SolankiBiscit today announced a new phone and ‘free’ broadband package for £29.99 per month with no minimum term. It has been introduced to give a helping hand to Talk Talk who suffered from provisioning problems for customers, according to a press release on the company website.
Freemax unlimited details:
- £29.99 per month
- 2400 minutes per month to UK landlines
- up to 8Mbps broadband with unlimited download allowance
- free calls to other Biscit landlines
- no minimum contract term
- one-off set up charge of £29.99
The announcement comes two days after Talk Talk was featured on BBC’s Watchdog programme following hundreds of complaints from viewers. The offer builds on Biscit’s existing £20 per month bundle, adding more free minutes, unlimited downloads and no minimum contract. The unlimited downloads are subject to a fair usage policy of course. Unfortunately no further details of this could be located on the website when we looked.
The £29.99 set-up charge is for customers that already have broadband on their line and can provide a migration code (MAC) that has been requested to the existing ISP. Customers without broadband activated on their line will have to pay £69.00 for set-up.
In comparison to the Talk Talk offer, the no minimum contract term is favourable. However, according to terms and conditions, there is a £70 charge for cancellation. Plus a whopping £35 if the customer wants a MAC to move elsewhere.
