Cable & Wireless announce agreement with Virgin Media

Cable & Wireless have signed an agreement to provide wholesale broadband services to Virgin Media.

The service will enable Virgin Media to offer broadband, phone and television services to parts of the country that do not have cable. At the moment, the bundled services that it can provide is limited to cable only areas.

Cable and Wireless’s unbundled broadband service will enable Virgin Media to reach around 4 million additional homes.

Neil Berkett, Chief Operating Officer, Virgin Media, said:

Cable & Wireless’ excellent service and technology will allow us to offer enhanced broadband and home phone services to an additional four million customers. It also lays a foundation for us to provide our unique quadplay services to the 50% of households outside our cable network.”
