Carphone Warehouse reports good progress in broadband operations.

Overall revenues are up 21.7 percent, helped by both its retail and fixed line operations. The group remains positive about broadband prospects going forward. It now has 1,247 fully unbundled exchanges across the UK, with 465 partially unbundled AOL exchanges.

These exchanges allow customers to subscribe to its cheap phone and broadband bundle packages. The company said the integration of TalkTalk and AOL exchanges to use the same overall network is nearly complete and the roll-out to the remaining AOL exchanges will be accelerated over the next few months.

Charles Dunstone, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “Customer demand for broadband and wireless solutions for the home is still increasing. With the further enhancements to our broadband services we are planning over the coming months, such as our new partnership with Dell, we are excited about the future.”

Carphone is also a hoping a new Dell laptop offer will tempt new customers to sign-up. As with the Orange free laptop offer, customers who sign up to an AOL package for two years get a free Dell laptop.
