Vodafone offers mobile broadband for £15 per month in special promotion
Sunday February 3, 2008 - 3:00 PMVodafone has halved the price of its 3G Mobile Broadband service from £30 to £15 per month as part of a limited promotion.
Finally, Vodafone offers a mobile broadband price plan for consumers that will directly compete with 3 and T-Mobile. 3’s cheapest package starts from £10 per month on a 24 month contract (carries an initial modem cost), while T-Mobile offers a free modem on its popular Web ‘n Walk mobile broadband package for £20 per month.
The Vodafone Mobile Broadband limited promotion is due to start on Monday 4th February and will apply to new customers. The fair usage limit of 3GB should be enough to satisfy most users’ broadband needs. Speeds of up to 7.2Mbps are available where the network is fully upgraded and 3.6Mbps in other areas, which makes it a decent alternative to fixed line broadband via a BT line or Cable.
Vodafone will also offer 3 or 6 months of free line rental for customers who sign-up for an 18 or 24 month contract. This will also include a free USB Modem, such as the popular “Pebble” or “Stick”, or the data card, which is said to offer the best speeds in low coverage areas.
Vodafone Business customers also stand to benefit as the fair usage limit rises from 3GB to 5GB on all contract business mobile broadband packages.
The Vodafone Group recently announced their 2007 financial results, which showed a slight decline in voice revenues but a strong increase in data revenues of 35.5%, helped along by large sales of 3G business devices and mobile broadband modems.
