BT Broadband option 1 with free Home Hub extended to 19 March 2008
Monday March 3, 2008 - 5:11 PMBT has now extended the offer for the free inclusion of the BT Home Hub on Option 1 until 19 March 2008.
BT states that it has extended the offer due to high demand. A black version of the Wireless BT Home Hub is also available exclusively online. BT Total Broadband Option 1 costs £8.95 for the first 6 months and £17.99 thereafter when customers sign-up to an 18 month contract. It includes 5GB of usage and comes with inclusive evening and weekend calls to UK landlines through the broadband connection. It is suitable for light to medium users.
The Home Hub (modem and wireless router) allows you to connect PCs, laptops and gaming consoles wirelessly. As with many routers these days it has a firewall built in. It updates itself with the latest firmware patches online.
BT Total Broadband also includes BT Vision’s Digital TV Recorder at an extra cost of £30, which provides access to Freeview plus thousands of hours of on demand entertainment using the BT broadband connection through the home hub.
In other news, BT announced that it is to be the main sponsor at The Isle of Wight music festival, taking place from 13th to 15th June 2008, giving BT the chance to promote its Voice, Broadband and Vision products during the three day event.
Headlining at the event will be The Kaiser Chiefs, Sex Pistols and The Police. Support comes from an array of artists such as Lily Allen, The Kooks, Iggy (Pop) and The Stooges, The Enemy and The Zutons. BT will also be holding competitions, events and there will be an official BT chill-out zone where you can read more on BT’s new-wave products.
No surprise that BT would want to sponsor the event as it was voted ‘Best Major UK Festival’ at the 2007 UK festival awards and is already sold-out, although BT is due to offer “the public a last chance to buy tickets” through a special promotion with details to be announced soon.
