AOL has announced a new 8Mbps broadband package that carries no minimum contract.

In addition to existing offerings such as the free laptop and free Playstation packages, which carry fairly lengthy contracts, AOL is hoping to cater for those who don’t like to be tied-in to a long contract with the new “Broadband Wireless Flexi” package for £14.99 per month.

The only requirement is a £49.99 non-refundable set-up fee.  The package has a 10GB (Gigabyte) usage allowance, which is suitable for most light to medium surfers.

A product such as this also makes sense for those who may need broadband temporarily, or wish to try AOL’s service out first, and move to another provider if they are not happy.
