Broadband ISP Plusnet has reworked its product offering, which now includes one of the cheapest broadband deals currently on the market.
The broadband “value” package offers 10GB of usage allowance for an up to 8Mbps broadband connection for just £5.99 per month. The price is fixed for customers in a Plusnet LLU broadband network area, which covers around 80% of the UK. However, for those outside of this area, the price is £11.99 after 3 months.
The broadband “unlimited” package is basically the same as the value package, but with unlimited usage. This costs £11.99 a month for 3 months then £15.99 a month. Customers not covered by the LLU network however pay £11.99 a month for 3 months and then £19.99. The unlimited usage package is actually designed to be truly unlimited, with no fair usage policy.
At the top end is the “Plusnet Pro” package, which prioritises traffic at all times of the day, with low latency and ping times, and comes with free usage between midnight and 8am. It comes with 15GB of usage. This package offers the best downstream speeds at all times, however is not designed for very heavy downloaders. The unlimited package is probably the most suitable for those types of users.
