An independent YouGov survey of mobile broadband ranks T-Mobile top in 9 out of 13 categories.

The survey was carried out on 1,958 mobile broadband users in January 2009.  T-Mobile topped the categories for reliability, value for money, upload speeds, download speeds, getting connected, ease of use, billing, installation and customer services.  T-Mobile also ranked high in several surveys and performance tests in 2008.

“The results of this latest YouGov mobile broadband survey indicate that we’re offering our internet customers the right mix of consistent performance and service, at a fair price,” says Richard Warmsley, Head of Internet and Entertainment for T-Mobile UK.

“We are particularly pleased about our top rating for value for money.  In today’s economic climate, we recognise value is a key factor for people looking for a flexible broadband solution,” Warmsley added.

T-Mobile is currently in the process of upgrading its HSDPA-enabled 3G network to speeds of 7.2Mbps within the M25 and other major cities, which should offer realistic mobile broadband speeds of up to 4.5Mbps in those enabled areas according to T-Mobile.

The mobile operator is also expanding its 3G coverage through its network sharing agreement with 3 (formed in 2008) which will eventually see it offer almost blanket coverage of the UK.
