According to the Daily Telegraph, Carphone Warehouse may be considering a bid for Tiscali’s UK business.

No official comment has been made but it is thought that Carphone’s Talk Talk division may try to get Tiscali’s customers on the cheap, most likely if the company was to go into administration.

Earlier this month, trading was suspended in Tiscali shares when the company announced large debt problems.  It then proposed a debt-restructuring plan and said that a possible sale was out of the question for the moment.

For a time, exclusive talks were taking place between Sky and Tiscali, but those stalled as Sky were looking to pay less than originally planned.

However, there is also speculation that Sky may raise its interest in Tiscali again.
