The supermarket giant has announced it will be offering free laptops or netbooks when customers buy a mobile broadband contract.

The laptops will be available to buy at 50 of its in-store phone shops.

The offers include a free Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop with a 24-month mobile broadband contract on the 3 network costing £29.36 a month. A free Compaq CQ60-214EM with 3Gb RAM (memory) and 250Gb hard disk space is also available with either an Orange or 3 mobile broadband contract for £34.26 per month.

The Tesco deals will compete with Carphone Warehouse, who also offer a range of free laptop and mobile broadband deals in its stores across the country.
