Upload speed isn't the best. 20/0.8, it's a joke.Customer service - UK based apparently, also a joke.
Modem is always down (The ready light is constantly flashing).
other than all that, it is rather reliable... When you don't get capped for downloading 200KB in peak times.

They are sooooooo bad, got 20mb/s package, barely even get 800kb/s. The customer service is ok, but they don't really help.Sun, 17th Apr 2011
customer service is insultingly terrible. passed from pillar to post when calling with problems or complaints. Speed is fairly consistent though. Just remember the "up to" clause....Tue, 5th Apr 2011
Please refrain from sending me deals on phones, television, broadband ect, your company can not keep to the deals you offer, I was asked to take out broadband for £9,0, not £18,0 with a discount of nine pounds, nine pound period, looking at my bills for the first time in years I discovered that my broadband is now £20-50p with a discount of £7, I will never trust Virgin Media with any deals again, Im looking for an alternative supplier for land line and broadband.Fri, 26th Nov 2010
Comment: I see a great deal of negative press here, however that's quite a trend isn't it? People that are happy with the service, like myself, hardly ever review because it works. The moment it stops working however, bang. Everybody has to have their say. Well for me, yes I've had my ups and downs with VM but I have the Samsung STB in one room, the HD box in another, and 50 mb broadband which, just yesterday morning got the upload upgrade from 1.5 mb to 5 mb and I couldn't be happier. I've had my issues with customer services too, who hasn't? However, I can say that compared to all other ISP's that want you to ring 0870 numbers and wait for 55 days just to hear 'hello?' and get hung up on making you want to spout invective for the best part of a year and a day, Virgin Media come out on top. They have been quick to fix issues I've had, even providing me with a 0800 number for 50 meg customers directly, bypassing all the useless chatter of the 0845 standard number. Nothing's perfect, don't get me wrong, but for me, the scale is tipped heavily in their favour, unlike a lot of what I see here.
